What is our common thread?
The Common Thread Gallery show is an effort to reach beyond the industry spectrum and welcome a diverse crowd into the “Sneaker-World” fold. We hope that through varied expressions of the footwear world viewers will find a relatable common thread.
THE LIVING ROOM
The Living Room in the traditional sense embodies the “heart” of many homes, and so it exists as the heart of our event. This is where we will discuss and embrace the diversity of creatives that exist in the industry. We hope you leave with insights that inform your own personal connection to the event, industry and other guests.
THE STUDIO SPACE
“The Studio Space” is an installation created by participants of a creative resource platform called “Educo”. This group has spent the last 8 weeks gathering insights and learning from experts in footwear, apparel and other creative industries.
A little bit about Educo: “Educo” is the latin root of the word education and means “To draw out, or develop from within”. The purpose of this capsule class is to help students learn by doing. By encouraging students to fearlessly foster their hunger for knowledge, the capsule class serves as a platform that will help them see how far their hunger will take them. In addition to enriching the mind, the students are tasked with creating
educational and entertaining content for the community.

This collection of curated artwork features artists, designers and makers who are passionate about sneakers and sneaker culture. This gallery is a small sampling of the influence that sneaker culture has beyond the product in hand, and showcases how it has created a series of subcultures worldwide.
